UFC pledges $1 million to families of Las Vegas mass shooting; UFC 216 will go on as planned

Already the local Las Vegas community and communities across the country are coming forward in solidarity to support and honor those impacted by this senseless shooting.

The account was created Monday by Steve Sisolak, the Clark County Commission Chair from Las Vegas.

It is the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.

Las Vegas residents have rushed to donate blood to help victims of the deadliest ever United States gun attack, which left at least 50 people dead and more than 400 injured.

Lines were blocks long at blood banks in Las Vegas as residents rushed to do what they could to help the wounded.

"We had a couple of people that chose not to go", said Jessica Donamaria, Preferred Travel Inc. of Minot.

"We've met the immediate need of blood, so now what we're asking people to do is pledge to come back in a week, come back in two weeks ..." Those who want to donate are encouraged to schedule appointments beforehand.

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air announced Monday that it will help family members reach victims of Sunday's mass shooting in Las Vegas for free. Bonfils Blood Center at Austin Bluffs Pkwy and N Academy Blvd stayed open an hour after closing time Monday to take donations.

On Oct. 1, a gunman identified by police as Stephen Paddock fired bullets down on concertgoers from the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas strip casino.

Donate to Sisolak's GoFundMe here; if you're in the Las Vegas area, visit one of the UBS centers below.

Donation centers need all blood types, especially O-positive and O-negative.

"We thank the first responders, law enforcement officers, and medical professionals who worked all through the night to save lives".
