Variety reports that the English actor is now in negotiations to star opposite the Oscar-winning Larson as Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel, in the upcoming solo movie for Larson's Carol Danvers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Of course, there is one character can play: Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel, who has already been rumored to be a part of the film by our friends over at MCU Exchange.
Larson previously said that some Captain Marvel fans won't be satisfied with her take on the character.
Jude Law is generating buzz right now for having signed to play a young Albus Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts follow-up, The Crimes of Grindelwald. Variety reports Law is in negotiations to join the film, which will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.
Larson is playing Carol Danvers, a skilled test pilot whose DNA is melded with that of Kree warrior Mar-Vell.
He's played lotharios, vicious villains and movie heroes, but he's never appeared in a Marvel movie, until now.
Ben Mendelsohn is reported to be playing the main villain in the picture, while Samuel L Jackson is expected to reprise his role as Nick Fury. One thing we know for sure: the film is going to be a bit of a prequel for the MCU, set almost 20 years before the events of the original 2008 Iron Man.
"Captain Marvel" is slated for release March 8, 2019.
