Mo Versi, the company's VP of product management, recently announced the news in a tweet. Those with an unlocked HTC U11 will be able to update their device to the latest major Android release, Oreo, starting today.

If you have the unlocked variant of the HTC U11 you can manually check for the update by going into Settings About Software updates Check now.

LG isn't the first Android smartphone maker to release the Oreo beta update for one of its phones. It is clear that users will experience popular updates like Picture-in-Picture mode, which gives users the luxury to open another app while simultaneously watching a video.
