Snow Could Make For Messy Friday Afternoon Commute

The cold continues with a flurry or snow shower the next few days

Sunny skies, high of 50 degrees on tap for Friday

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather message Friday morning warning of snow and slippery road conditions for south Jersey, Delaware and northeastern Maryland. Motorists are urged to use extra caution if traveling this evening.

Today: Cloudy. A chance of snow this morning, then snow this afternoon. The high will be near 49 with a south wind of 5 to 7 miles per hour. Chance of snow 80 percent.

Saturday's high near 61 degrees includes sunny skies and southerly winds gusting as high as 20 miles per hour. The winter weather advisory will be in effect from 1 p.m.to 10 p.m. Total snow accumulations of one to two inches are expected.

Friday starts out clear and cold on Long Island, but snow moves in just before the evening commute, forecasters said. There is a 30 percent chance of snow on Sunday night, but temperatures are expected to soar into the low 40s on Monday and high 40s on Tuesday, according to the weather service.

Moderate to heavy bands of snow could set up along the front making for hard driving conditions this afternoon in northwest Montana then this evening around Missoula for the commute home from work.
