NBC is reviving 'The Office' for 2018

Creator Greg Daniels is reportedly attached to the project and a search for the new cast is underway.

NBC is reportedly considering reviving "The Office" in the 2018 - 2019 season. Steve Carell, who starred as the branch's regional manager, Michael Scott, for seven of the comedy's nine seasons, will not be involved in the new series.

The Office, one of the all-time beloved comedies, is ready to join the revival bandwagon.

No word yet on whether the show's other stars - including John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Mindy Kaling, Ellie Kemper, Rainn Wilson, B.J.

"We often talk about 'The Office, '" Greenblatt told the publication.

'I've talked to Greg [Daniels] four times over the past few years, ' Bob said of the show's executive producer. It's always, 'Maybe someday, but not now.' There is certainly an open invitation, but we don't have anything happening right now.

NBC's The Office itself was a remake of the British The Office, which ran for two series in the United Kingdom before the American remake debuted in 2005.

'I don't think it'll ever happen, ' she said. "I would do it if there was some circumstance where everybody got back together, and could be brought back together in some fantastic way, I would say yes". As "The Office" continued for several years, many of those characters were elevated from the background and wound up with their own storylines and histories.

The move comes on the back of NBC's Will & Grace revival being a hit for the network.
