Boy Gets the Grinch Locked Up - and Saves Christmas

After his brother showed him videos of Dr. Seuss' famous Grinch on the internet, five-year-old TyLon Pittman from Byram, Mississippi, called 911, alerting local authorities of what was about to go down.

The incident, which has gone viral, began this past Saturday night when the boy made a secret phone call to 911 to alert the police to the Grinch's nefarious ways.

Tylon's brother shared the encounter on social media and the video went viral racking up nearly 35,000 shares. "Every Christmas morning, my dad wears these Grinch trousers", she said with a smile on Sunday. The operator, Officer Lauren Develle, visited Pittman's home after the call.

"So what are you going to do if he tries to steal your Christmas?" "Growing up seeing the Grinch every Christmas was my favorite thing".

After speaking with Develle, TyLon felt a little better.

Once the Grinch served his time, Tylon got to tour the jail and was sure to offer his services to the department, should they need him to save the holidays again.

He arrived at the station, greeted by Develle and Byram Police Chief Luke Thompson, who led him to a holding cell in the back.

On Monday, TyLon got his wish and arrested the Grinch. "My 5-year-old brother called the police and said that the Grinch is stealing people's Christmas and he don't want him to steal his, so they really came to our house!"
