The two suspects were reportedly arrested in Schenectady New York

Police say the two women were in a relationship.

Police announced late Friday that two arrests have been made for the killings of two children and two women earlier this week. Both suspects, from Schenectady, New York, were arraigned in Troy City Court on Saturday, with the next court appearance scheduled for Thursday. A property manager found 36-year-old Shanta Myers; her children, 11-year-old Jeremiah Myers and 5-year-old Shanise Myers; and 22-year-old Brandi Mells in a basement apartment along the Hudson River, just north of Albany on Tuesday.

Police Chief James Tedesco described the slayings as an act of "savagery" and that further details about the gruesome deaths would be released to the public at this time. But no one involved in this case is ever going to forget it. The money will be used to provide mental health services for the family and to set up a scholarship and provide resources for Isaiah Smith, Myers' 15-year-old son and the sole survivor in the family.

It has been reported that Mann broke brown as he was being led out of court.

Told the teen via the Times Union, 'I'm not sure if they're coming for me next.' .

The family was killed in their Troy apartment on December 21, but not discovered until five days later, after relatives grew concerned over unreturned phone calls. "The emotions of a police officer is something you repress because there is a job to be done".

More than two dozen people were in court Saturday, some wearing Troy Boys & Girls club sweatshirts. "It will be deeply felt by all his friends at the Club and throughout the community". The two children were found together in a kneeling position with their heads and chests on a bed.

"Our hearts are broken and our thoughts and deepest condolences are with their family and loved ones during this terribly troubling time", Carmello wrote.
