Militants attacked Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) personnel at its Group Training Centre (GTC) Lethpora area of Awantipora in southern Kashmir's Pulwama district during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Earlier it was reported that three terrorists have been killed. Police sources told Mirror that terrorists believed to be two in number carried out the Fidayeen attack at around 2:10 am by opening indiscriminate fire and lobbed grenades inside the camp. Two personnel got injured in the attack. And all the injured were evacuated to Army's 92 base hospital in Badamibagh, Srinagar for treatment.
One more militant has been killed, they said adding but bodies of only two militants have so far been recovered. DGP also said that soon all the terrorists will be killed. Until the body of third militant is recovered nothing can be said with authority, they added.

Terming the attack as "unfortunate", Vaid said as long as Pakistan keeps sending militants, security forces and people of Kashmir will continue to go through this.
Traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu highway was halted for some time during the counter-insurgency operations.
