The Minnesota Vikings defense forces Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky to make crucial mistake causing safety. Defensively, the Bears are top 10 in points and yards allowed.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said the significance is in the team's play heading into the postseason, which is strong after the Vikings forced its first shutout since 1993 last weekend in Green Bay.

The Chicago Bears are expected to part ways with coach John Fox after this season, multiple outlets reported on Sunday.

Keenum completed 17 of his 21 passes that night for 140 yards and a touchdown, and after Harrison Smith's late interception of first-time starter Mitch Trubisky, Kai Forbath kicked a 26-yard field goal with 16 seconds left to give the Vikings a 20-17 win.

"I've been on the bad end of it", Newman said of first-round byes. The Vikings finished 12-2 four times with a 14-game schedule (in 1969, 1970, 1973 and 1975), but the only other time they've topped 12 victories was their 15-1 record in 1998. The unit led the National Football League in least points allowed and has the ability to shut down any offense, which should keep the Vikings in any game.

The Bears will finish in the cellar of the NFC North for the third consecutive season under Fox, who was hired by the team in January 2015 after a four-year stint as the Denver Broncos' coach.

"Before you know it", Callahan said,", "I'm already approaching the end zone wth one blocker guiding me throughout".

Keenum said 13-3 had "a nice ring to it". Punter Pat O'Donnell threw a 38-yard pass to Benny Cunningham in the Bears' three-point home loss to the Vikings in Week 5. "I don't feel like we'd get another coach that would be better". Jeremiah Sirles started at left guard for Nick Easton, who will miss the playoffs because of a broken ankle. Veteran Joe Berger will move from right guard to take Elflein's place, making his first start of the season at center.

Elflein was held out of practice all week and, if the Vikings lock up a first-round bye, could have three weeks between games.

"It's a box that we checked", Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen said.
