Ahead of his scheduled appearance at the Super Bowl 2018 halftime show, the singer announced that his fifth studio album, titled "Man of the Woods", will drop February 2, with the first single available on Friday.
Actually, looks like the singer is skipping over country and going straight to woodsman. The new album marks Timberlake's first since 2013.
Even without albums, Timberlake has kept putting out music, scoring a mega-hit in 2016 with "Can't Stop the Feeling!" a giddy summer song that appeared in the animated film "Trolls".More news: Terrorists storm CRPF camp in J&K's Pulwama, jawan killed
Timberlake also took to Twitter to release a one-minute video.
"It feels so earthy - it's just where you are in your life right now", collaborator and friend Pharrell can be heard adding at one point. In a 2016 interview with the BBC, Timberlake declined to describe it as a country album but acknowledged the influence.
He last sang on the Super Bowl stage in 2004, during Janet Jackson's infamous performance.
The Memphis, Tennessee native's album release will come days after the singer turns 37 on 31 January, and it coincides with his headlining gig at the Super Bowl halftime show on 4 February.
