Google Pay merges Android Pay and Google Wallet into a unified payment solution

After years of brainstorming - Google finally has had the genius idea of unifying both these platforms under a single brand.

Today Google announced that they are consolidating their payment platforms, notably Android Pay and Google Wallet, into a single, unified structure being branded as Google Pay.

Indeed, Google notes that Google Pay is not an inherently new product, but rather a "new name and look for existing Google payment products".

This all-new Google Pay branding was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 event being held in Las Vegas. Also, the same changes are supposed to reflect in Google Tez UPI (Unified Payment Interface) app launched in India. Google Pay already works with sites like Airbnb, Dice, HungryHouse, Fandango, and more sites will likely add support in the coming future.
