Nokia 6 (2018) announced with thin bezels and bothie camera

In essence, the Nokia 6 2018 is powered by a Snapdragon 630 processor that is a gradual upgrade of the Snapdragon 625, and therefore, the new Nokia 6 has all the ingredients to better Xiaomi's dominance in the under Rs 20,000 price segment in the days to come. HMD also proudly declares "No camera bump" in the spec sheet.

The camera specs seem exactly the same as a year ago, with a 16MP, 1.0µm, f/2, rear camera and an 8MP 1.12µm, f/2, front camera. It has the capacitive keys on the front side of the fingerprint scanner. The storage is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The handset is running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

Manufacturers priced the 32GB variant Nokia 6 phone at Rs 14,600.

According to the TENAA listing, the Nokia 6 (2018) will feature a 5.5-inch display with a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio, the same as last year's model.

Nokia 6 (2016) is already up for pre-order on Chinese website "Suning". The device has a USB Type-C port drilled at the base instead of the micro-USB port found on its predecessor.

HMD Global, the Finnish company that sells Nokia-branded smartphones, is set to formally unveil the second-generation Nokia 6 smartphone later today.

Elsewhere, the speaker setup on-board the original Nokia 6 came with dual amplifiers and support for Dolby Atmos sound technology. There was no fast charging. There's a longer metal frame surrounding the rear camera lens and LED flash unit below it. Fingerprint sensor sits right below the LED flash. Owing to this the phone now measures 148.8 x 75.8 x 8.15 is 5 mm shorter than the original Nokia 6. The new Nokia 6 is now available for preorder for ¥1,499 in China (about $230) for the 32GB model, but there's no indication about if and when it will be released in other markets. However, Nokia 6 (2018) now supports "Bothie" mode that lets users capture and record from the front and rear camera simultaneously. Users in China can get their hands on the smartphone starting January 10.

The report also claimed that the smartphone would be available for purchase exclusively through Amazon India at present. The smartphone will be available in two colour variants - Black and Silver.
