Earlier Apple said that in late January it would be offering the cheaper battery replacements, but it has taken off the time span from its letters to its customers, and has promised in the statement about instant availability, to the TechCrunch. Today, the tech site BGR also took Apple to task for the company's "far from perfect" apology. Hence the consumers will have to rely on redistributors who will be selling the battery replacements with a premium tag on top of the discounted price.
