Princess Eugenie Is Engaged to Boyfriend Jack Brooksbank

One month after the engagement of her cousin Prince Harry, the royal beauty announced she will marry her boyfriend Jack Brooksbank.

Princess Eugenie of York, the Queen's granddaughter, has announced her engagement.

Her father, the Duke of York, announced her engagement earlier today.

The couple were engaged earlier this month while on vacation in Nicaragua and according to the couple, it was a picturesque and romantic setting. "I have fond memories of Sunday roasts in pubs with log fires, and it's something I want to recreate", he told the Daily Mail.

The couple plan to tie the knot at St. George's Chapel at Windsor in the fall. "I can't speak for the Duchess but we... and for [Eugenie's sister] Beatrice. we are overjoyed today that Eugenie and Jack have got engaged".

Eugenie and Brooksbank, a wine merchant by profession, first met on the Swiss ski slopes of Verbier at the Duke of York's 50th birthday in 2010 and have been dating each other since then.

It's the same chapel as will host the wedding of Prince Harry and his popular American fiancee, Meghan Markle, in May.

And the affection is clear with Eugenie's mum, Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson, taking to Instagram straight after the announcement to share photos from her personal album of the couple. The public also got a glimpse at Eugenie's ring-a padparadscha sapphire, encrusted in diamonds. He added that Jack's parents, Nicole and George Brooksbank, are "completely over the moon" for the couple.

"What's unbelievable about it is that it changes colour from every different angle that you look at it, which is what I think of Eugenie", he said to The One Show.

Andrew and Sarah, who have remained close despite divorcing, both spoke of the happiness they feel following the announcement, which was marked by the release of a series of engagement photographs.

Eugenie, who studied English and history of art at Newcastle University, is now a director at the contemporary art gallery Hauser and Wirth in London.
