Several schools in OH are on lockdown this morning after a 7th grader reportedly shot himself, multiple sources have reported.

'The Middle School and High School are on lockdown at this time, ' Jackson Local Schools said in a statement.

The seventh grader was rushed to hospital, but his condition was not immediately known, CBS News reported. Parents at the school said police would not give them any information about what was happening, except to say it's serious.

According to school officials, they are now working on an orderly dismissal.

A 7th grader at an OH middle school has shot himself in a bathroom on campus.

Students are in the process of being released to their parents.

"I received a phone call from the superintendent that the middle school and high school was on lockdown and all the elementary schools would be closed".

The incident happened around 7:51 a.m. on the school grounds at 7355 Mudbrook St. NW. If I do go tell them I want the same thing as grandma.

Law enforcement authorities are now working to release students from the middle school.

Meanwhile police are investigating how the gun got into the school and whether the shooting was an accident or an intentional incident.
