Xiaomi is gearing up to launch Redmi 5 in India on March 14 following the launch of Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro last month. This is because Xiaomi has always been known to provide better, affordable products and this could mark the beginning of Xiaomi's launch-spree in the TV market as well.
Xiaomi is expected to launch the device in two variants, one with 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM and the other with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. It is still not clear if the Redmi 5 will be released in India in all 4 colors, Black, Gold, Light Blue and Rose Gold that it is sold in China in. Apparently, we can come t a conclusion that the company might have sold 5 million units of the Redmi 5A till date. The official presentation will take place no earlier than March 14. The Redmi Note 5 for China will be featured with a 5.99-inch FHD+ 18:9 display, powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Chipset. In terms of availability, the new smartphones should make it to the retail shelves one week after the launch. It will also be available in 16GB/32GB storage variants.
The Redmi 5A (2GB RAM + 16GB storage) price in India is back to the original Rs. 5,999. The smartphone features a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1440 by 720 pixels and a protective glass function. The Redmi 5A is a dual SIM smartphone that comes with MIUI 9 on top of Android Nougat out-of-the-box. It will also come with an expansion option with which you can simply expand the memory of the device upto 128GB by using an external microSD card.
For photography, The Redmi 5A comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture and LED flash; camera features include PDAF, burst mode, panorama mode, HDR mode, and more. There will be a fingerprint sensor placed at the back of the smartphone just below the camera module.
