The state's unemployment rate in January 2018 is at record low 3,1%, state Department of Workforce Development reported.
In Omaha, the January unemployment rate rose to 3.2 percent from the 2.8 percent it logged in December.
Alabama's unemployment rate is down to 3.7 percent.
"Companies have just found SC to provide them what they need to come here and open a plant or expand their plant, and we're providing them with their number one resource: people", says Department of Employment and Workforce communications director Bob Bouyea. North Carolina began 2018 in a stagnant pattern when it comes to the state employment outlook.

Overall, the area has stronger employment figures than it did at this time a year ago. The state added 150,900 total jobs since January 2017.
The labor force data also does not distinguish how many workers are full time, temporary or part time, or how many jobs people are working.
Some industry analysts rely on civilian labor force participation figures to gauge economy strength, but even those numbers may not be fully accurate, Parker said. State jobs were made up by 1,700 jobs added to local government payrolls, a 0.2 percent increase.
Nationally, unemployment was unchanged at 4.1. The February report will be released on March 23.
The low unemployment rates appear to be translating to higher wages for those with jobs.
