Lagos declares tomorrow work-free day as Buhari visits

Such is the case of a young lady who violated the "don't use order" of a particular pedestrian bridge in Lagos on Thursday, March 29, during the President Muhammadu Buhari's historic visit to Lagos.

"For the avoidance of doubt, the Lagos State Police Command will not tolerate any protest from the National Basketball Association or from any group or individual for that matter during the visit of Mr President whom Lagosians are ready to receive warmly".

Bamigbetan urged residents to adhere to the security guidance earlier announced to make the visit peaceful and orderly.

The police commissioner said that President Buhari would be attending a colloquium marking the 66th Birthday of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu at Victoria Island, and also be at the official flag-off ceremony for the construction of the Lekki Deep Sea Port Project in Epe.

Areas to be affected by the traffic diversion include Bank Anthony Way in Ikeja, Agege Motor Road, a section of Eko Hotel Road in Victoria Island and Old Marina in Ikoyi axis.

The President was received by the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, as well as the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, among other government officials.

Furthermore, the critics said it was insensitive to declared Thursday a work free day when Friday and Monday have already been declared as public holidays by Federal Government to mark Easter break.
