Bukar was the second senator to die in weeks, after Senator Ali Wakili, 58, who represented Bauchi south in the Senate.
He was general manager of Kaduna state water board in 1991.
According to a biographical sketch published by National Assembly, Bukar was born in Daura in December 1953.
Bukar was recently in the news when he sponsored the training of 400 unemployed youths in his Senatorial District on yoghourt making and poultry production for self-reliance and economic sustainability. "We shall sorely miss his vibrancy and progressive mindset".
