However, Salman's co-actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre, who allegedly accompanied the superstar on late night hunting, were acquited by the court.This was the Salman's fourth time in this prison.
A director of one of Khan's upcoming films "Race 3" expressed relief at his release.
The court's ruling against Khan, who has 32.5 million followers on Twitter and was promoting his movie last week, sparked worries among Bollywood traders.
On the other hand in Mumbai, several thousand, ranging from toddlers in arms to youth, elderly men and women, many carrying placards and banners with Salman's pictures were seen waiting eagerly at both the Mumbai airport and outside his Galaxy Apartments after he was granted bail by the Jodhpur district and the session court.
