The Cubs have a 5-4 record on the 2018 season but those have all been road games. It opened the season with a 5-4 road trip to Miami, Cincinnati and Milwaukee.

The Chicago Cubs have pushed back the scheduled start time for their home opener because of a steady snowfall over Wrigley Field. Chatwood is 0-0 in two career starts against Pittsburgh with a 1.50 ERA.
Chatwood allowed one earned run, six walks and four hits in six innings in his first start against Cincinnat while striking out four.
