The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (22-22, 5-12 SBC) snapped their five-game win streak as they dropped a pair of games on Friday afternoon at Troy (26-17, 10-7 SBC) and the Troy Softball Complex as they fell to the Trojans by the scores of 1-0 and 4-1.

Park senior shortstop Delaney Young ripped a grand slam home run in the third inning and had an fantastic first-game total of eight RBIs, adding a double and a triple to go along with her four-bagger.

Senior starter Courtney Fleisher pitched four innings of one-hit, two-walk, eight-K ball to get the win. After a second out and another single, Jennifer Mayette (Scotia, New York/Scotia-Glenville) saw her fourth strikeout of the game to leave two on base.

Lynne Nordin had a solid complete game performance as the pitcher for Maple Grove (0-2, 0-1). She struck out one batter and walked six.

East Central managed seven hits in the contest but could only get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second when Marlee Parkes out of Nanih Waiya tripled in two runs.

Head coach Ron Cipriano said Thursday's game was a "tough loss" but that he saw good efforts from his players.

"One of the biggest things that we are taking away from it is to just attack every game with the mentality of just going hard for every play, really focusing on every at-bat that we go up and take", Huerta said. "I think we scored probably three runs on a couple of errors they had".

Wheelersburg scored three runs in the first and added two in the second and third for a 7-0 advantage. Quincy's record is now 4-4.

Sophomore Hayley Clark added two RBIs. TAMK jumped to 4-0 lead in the second inning and the score remained the same throughout.

The Tigers ended an 8-8 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning with the winning run.

Dekari Moss, Schwerthoffer and Sarai Dixson all added hits and Hailey Natalizia walked 3 times and scored three runs for Pembroke (1-0).
