Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1

Asus ZenFone Max Pro is the crazy affordable phone for India

One of the major highlights of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 is its enormous 5000mAh battery, which ASUS claims can provide up to two days of stamina.

The more recent Zenfone Max Pro features a narrower 5.99-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The aluminium unibody design is prevalent across the budget category of smartphones and the Zenfone Max Pro is no different.

In terms of optics, the 3GB & 4GB variants will feature a vertically stacked dual rear camera setup (13MP + 8MP) with 4K video recording capabilities.

In January 2018, Asus announced the ZenFone Max Plus (M1) in the USA, coming in as the company's first to spot the new 18:9 design and face unlock. The smartphone packs in the best of both worlds - an efficient processor with ample amount of RAM.

Larry Paulson, President & Vice President, Qualcomm India joined Mr. Shen on stage to add, "Qualcomm Technologies shares the ASUS commitment to exceptional design and quality, With the launch of ZenFone Max Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform, ASUS has brought together an ideal balance of exceptional battery life, outstanding performance and consumer value".

Still, it's hard to argue with the phone's 5,000mAh battery. The lack of a heavy skin would thus make the device more easy and smooth for daily use. When I first heard about the phone coming up with a phone with such huge battery, I thought the weight would be over 200grams, but Asus has done a great job in keeping the device to 180grams. The 6GB+64GB variant will cost Rs. 14,999 and will have an upgraded dual camera setup. Both the versions get a dedicated micro SD card slot and separate twin slots for the SIM cards. The new phone comes with top-notch specifications and a cost-effective price-tag and is sure to give popular rival brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, and Honor a run for their money. The same for the other model include a 13 MP and 5 MP dual shooter at the rear while an 8 MP camera at the front suffices for a selfie shooter.

This is where things start to get interesting.

It has a 5000mAh battery inside and surprisingly, the Zenfone Max Pro boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based stock ROM out of the box. Zenfone Max Pro has 3GB RAM/32GB storage, 4GB RAM/64GB storage, 6GB RAM/64GB storage (launching soon) options, while the Redmi Note 5 Pro is available in 4GB RAM/32GB storage and 6GB RAM/64GB storage versions. In fact, the company brags it to be the slimmest phone with a battery that big and sure may be!

During the demo, the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) took exceptionally good pictures in the bright sunny conditions. ZenFone Max Pro (M1) features a five-magnet speaker driven by a NXP smart amplifier that delivers higher volume with lower distortion.

The handset comes with a Vodafone offer as well, offerings benefits of up to Rs.3,200. It's available in three variants of 3 GB, 4 GB and 6 GB RAM. Make sure you visit us again to check our in-depth analysis of the phone.
