Just a day before West Virginia's primary election, President Donald Trump has weighed in on the GOP Primary.

He's confronted a set of attacks from institution Republicans for his part at the tragedy. The president has felt burned by Republicans once he injected himself into other races simply to watch his preferred applicants autumn limited.

At an statement responding to Mr. Trump, " Mr. Blankenship reported the president "is just a very busy man and he doesn't even understand me and he doesn't even discover just how faulty my 2 key opponents are at that first". "The establishment is misinforming him because they do not want me to be in the U.S. Senate and promote the President's agenda".

Firebrand conservative Moore won the state GOP primary over Trump-backed Luther Strange, then lost to Democrat Doug Jones, amid numerous damaging allegations about Moore's past inappropriate behavior with women.

Both the Morrisey and Jenkins campaigns reportedly have internal polling showing Mr. Blankenship with a small lead.

"The problem isn't that Don Blankenship can't win a general election in West Virginia, it's that he shouldn't win a general election in West Virginia".

But the President's son does not share that sentiment and unleashed a series of tweets on Thursday urging West Virginia Republicans to vote against Blankenship. West Virginians don't need a candidate who may not even be able to campaign in the state against Joe Manchin.

Many pundits said the race could determine which party controls the Senate next year.

The GOP views Manchin's seat as a prime pick-up opportunity to expand the party's narrow majority in the Senate. Manchin's seat is a top target of Republicans in this year's midterm elections.

Both O'Connell and Trippi said this primary split has been a detriment to Republican Senate elections and Democratic House elections, where far-left candidates have been widening the field.

A weekend poll by one of Blackenship's rivals found him leading with 31 percent of the vote, Jenkins in second with 28 percent and Morrisey with 27 percent, according to the Weekly Standard.

The former coal baron recently served a one-year prison sentence on a conviction for conspiring to violate mine safety laws, following the Upper Big Branch Mine explosion in 2010 that killed 29 people. McConnell, who has opposed Blankenship's Senate run, is married to Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao.

"Swamp Captain Mitch McConnell has contributed tens of thousands of jobs to China Folks", Mr. Blankenship stated in 1 firm, alluding to the shipping work of Mr. McConnell's father in law, an American citizen.

Coal miners are an influential political constituency in West Virginia and Trump's White House victory came amid promises to revive the ailing coal industry.

Instead, Mr. Blankenship said the president has been misled by establishment Republicans, and that trying to tell West Virginia voters what to do is a mistake.

"No more fumbles like Alabama", he wrote.
