Weather permitting, there will be an aircraft fly over from the Colorado Air National Guard 140th Air Wing and the annual Avenue of Flags display. At 8:30 a.m. service will be held at the north bridge to honor our Navy veterans. The event is free.

The event will begin with the presentation of colors followed by the national anthem, Pledge of Allegiance and the reading of patriotic poems. Our mission is to Honor, Recognize and Celebrate the men and women of the Sea Services, past, present and future; and to inform the public about their service. On Monday, a Memorial Day service will be held at the Citizens Cemetery at 11 a.m. Gibson National Cemetery Director; Patrick Burk, Supervisory Claims Examiner, Muskogee VA Regional Office; state Rep. George Faught; state Sen.

David Shuey, actor and historian of History Teller Productions, will deliver the Memorial Day message. Speaker will be Thomas Matusch, a Brookfield High School alum and a retired Air Force master sergeant. Post Cmdr. Michael Grigg said the ceremonies will include a short prayer and rifle salute.

Complimentary water and limited seating is provided. There are no seats; If you want to sit down, you must bring your own chairs.

Lt. Col. Troy Reeves, the senior Army instructor with the Crosby JROTC, is the guest speaker and Pastor Jerry Hovator will also say a few words. Taps will be sounded.

Gilboa - 10:30 a.m. memorial service at Gilboa United Methodist Church.

The event is sponsored by the cemetery and Tulsa's American Legion Post No. 1.

Kinston's VFW Annual Memorial Day ceremonies will begin Saturday at 8 a.m.in front of the Lenoir County Courthouse. A wreath will be placed at the memorial.

Gum Creek Cemetery marks the final resting place of veterans from numerous American wars, with 12 known Civil War veterans and one confirmed Seminole War veteran.

Memorial Day will be commemorated with several ceremonies this weekend in Camas and Washougal.

Holland's Memorial Day parade will be downtown on 8 Street. Military ID or proof of service is required for free admission. The service will be held rain or shine. A program is planned at 10:30 a.m.at the Community Center, 206 Maple St.

Retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel Amy McGrath will be the guest speaker for the Monday morning ceremony at the Richmond Cemetery, which begins at 10 a.m. Music will be provided by the combined Moscow Middle School and High School bands directed by Tom Garrett. The parade will re-form and march to the gazebo for a Memorial Day observance. If they are given a small flag, do not throw it on the ground or onto the street.
