Harden should be MVP 'hands down&apos, says World Peace

Metta World Peace believes Houston Rockets star James Harden is the obvious candidate for the NBA's MVP

James Harden of the Houston Rockets won his first career NBA Most Valuable Player Award in the NBA Awards Show in Santa Monica, California on Monday, June 25 (Tuesday, June 26, Manila time).

The Houston Rockets star was voted the NBA's Most Valuable Player after twice being runner-up, beating out four-time victor LeBron James and Anthony Davis of the Pelicans at the NBA Awards on Monday night. He beat out LeBron James who was a little ways back in second (15 first place votes), followed in order by Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Russell Westbrook, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Harden is only the second player in National Basketball Association history to win the MVP and Sixth Man of the Year awards in their career (Bill Walton was the other).

Harden becomes the third Rocket ever to win the award, joining Moses Malone (1978-79 and 1981-82) and Hakeem Olajuwon (1993-94). Under Morey's direction, the Rockets acquired All-Star guard Chris Paul from the Clippers to team up with Harden and rising big man Capela. Tonight, awards will be handed out to the league's best ballers, including MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.
