After making their pick in the 2018 National Basketball Association draft Thursday, the Cavaliers will "continue to have a good dialogue" with LeBron James as he considers whether or not to stay in Cleveland.

Love averaged 17.6 points and 9.3 rebounds for Cleveland this season, and averaged almost 15 points per game throughout the postseason in their fourth straight NBA Finals run, too. He's confident, a proven scorer and he addresses a major need for the Cavs, who traded All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving to Boston past year and spent all season trying to replace him. Altman also said owner Dan Gilbert is set to "spare no expense" building a championship team after the Cavaliers were swept by the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

James was on family vacation during the draft, multiple league sources told ESPN, and the Cavs entered Thursday without being informed of James' intentions for next season.

The Cavs selected Alabama point guard Collin Sexton with the No. 8 pick out of the draft Thursday, but it appears they are still looking to bolster their roster. That's exactly what they did with the eighth overall pick.

But fearlessness and scoring abilities aside, will Sexton alone be enough to win back the man who won Cleveland its first major sports title in 52 years? ESPN draft analyst Mike Schmitz spoke to about the Cavs outlook heading into the draft. It's possible James could choose to sign a one-year deal again with a player option and go through the free-agency dance again next summer.

Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman senses positive momentum as Cleveland prepares to pitch LeBron James on sticking around.

"Obviously, I'd love to play with LeBron the rest of my career, but that will be a choice that he makes", Love said. With two years remaining on his contract that's worth approximately $49.6 million, with the final year of his deal being a player option in 2019-20, Love seems to want to remain a Cav as much as the Cavaliers supposedly want him to remain in Cleveland.

Some say we should draft a point guard for Lebron to groom if he stays.

At different points in the playoffs, all three players looked overmatched, but that's one of the great things about youth - there's always room to improve.

Not counting James, Pluto says there are just two players on the current Cavs' roster that the team drafted: Cedi Osman and Tristan Thompson.

"You always want to take young players and mold them to be who you want them to be and take on your personality, and I think he fits it flawless".

Altman hopes Sexton's arrival will make the Cavs more attractive to James.
