At the Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home in Treme, his family showed the world the things Matthews love the most.

Renard Matthews was killed in a shooting in New Orleans two weeks ago. WDSU-TV reports his body was positioned in a chair and he had a video game controller in his lap. Kyrie Irving jersey and socks included, too.

Temeka, the mother to Matthews, revealed during an interview with a local news station WGNO, that her late son was a football and basketball fan - his favourite athlete was Celtics guard Kyrie Irving.

The realistic tribute to Matthews also came with the teenager surrounded by some of his favorite snacks, including cereal, Doritos, zebra cakes, and a root beer. We get used to seeing each other occupy certain spaces so I think there's something strangely lovely about wanting to see Renard Matthews in that chair, controller in hand, one last time.

The softly-lit area was cordoned off with ropes and seats for family and friends attending the memorial were neatly laid out behind the body.
