Conservative media network CRTV was called out on Tuesday by New York Democratic congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after it posted a hoax interview video aimed at humiliating her without making viewers aware it had been faked.
Corbin Trent, Ocasio-Cortez's communications director, said the primary win helped put Ocasio-Cortez on a national stage and that her victory speech on June 26 inspired people nationwide. "So this is just political correctness run amok but it's a way to obscure scrutiny on her views, which are socialist and they're wrapped in ignorance".
The Democrat party is literally crumbling with people like Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez as the shining lights of the party, and many thinking, older Democrats from yesteryear will vote elsewhere when the full stupidity of their Democrat/Socialist ideas are discussed and understood.
"But I'm sure these new FL voters appreciate your comments", she said.More news: Roseanne Tells Sean Hannity She's "Paid The Price" For Her Infamous Tweet
"We tried to talk about what her goals are coming to Congress, some of the stuff that we're doing as a progressive caucus and you know really trying to be helpful to her", Pocan, D-Wis., told ABC News.
"I think that's an exaggeration".
What remains to be seen is if these candidates and their proposed policies - such as Medicare for all, free college and abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement - are the future of the Democratic party, or if they are merely sparking some change. Sander's socialism is also something of a different breed, one that at least nominally places value on individual rights.
Hoyer declined to characterize Ocasio-Cortez as a unifying force for Democrats, but acknowledged she "certainly energizes the base".
