Demi Lovato made headlines last week when she was rushed to the hospital after going unconscious due to a drug overdose.

Dani Vitale shared a statement on Instagram after fans blamed her for being a bad influence and friend to Demi, CNN reported.

However, TMZ has since reported that Lovato is still in hospital following "complications" six days after initially being admitted to hospital.

Another person in Lovato's corner is actor Wilmer Valderrama, an ex-boyfriend, who has reportedly remained by her side during her recovery. She is still expected to make a full recovery, but it's unclear when she will be released from the hospital, TMZ adds.

The singer's team has not yet revealed what prompted Lovato to be hospitalized, though a rep did confirm last week that Lovato "awake and with her family" several hours after reports of her condition emerged. Not only is the singer reportedly being uncooperative and doesn't want to go to rehab, but Lovato is also reportedly going through some tough medical issues as a result of the drug overdose. The dispatcher told the woman this was outside his control, and that "this is definitely a medical emergency for her".

The "Tell Me You Love Me" singer has been open about her addiction troubles in the past, talking about her life battles in Simply Complicated.
