Mainz Confirm Yoshinori Muto Is Newcastle United Bound

Mainz have confirmed the sale of Japan global Yoshinori Muto to Newcastle United, in a deal reportedly worth £9.5 million ($12.4m).

"Mitro's back - and he's here to stay", the club stated on Twitter.

A story that has rumbled on for months, it seems that Aleksandar Mitrovic's permanent transfer to Fulham is set to go ahead as Sky Sports stated over the weekend he was in London finalising his transfer to the newly-promoted club.

When Benitez was asked if he will get the full amount of the Mitrovic fee to spend this summer, he said: "I don't know the numbers".

Newcastle will likely make a profit on the £14.5 million they paid Anderlecht for his services in July 2015.

After sealing his move, Mitrovic said: "I'm very happy and proud to finally be here and officially become a Fulham player". He scored 17 times in 72 games for the Magpies.

"Mitrovic originally joined the Whites on loan at the 11th hour on deadline day in January, and went on to have a hugely significant impact in our promotion to the Premier League".

"I have love for the fans".

A technically gifted side, Fulham will benefit from the physical presence Mitrovic provides in the coming campaign. They're wonderful fans and I have a really good connection with them.

The 26-year-old forward has agreed terms and undergone a medical with the Premier League club as Rafael Benitez seeks to sew up his fourth signing of the close-season.
