By reaching the European Cup final in May, Jurgen Klopp provided a huge endorsement of the hunch the club's owners had back in 2015 that the German's charisma, populist touch and drive would fit with Anfield's fierce idea of what makes Liverpool unique in English football.

Liverpool face Napoli on Saturday as they wind down their pre-season, with Alisson set to make his debut.

Liverpool have since splashed £67 million on Alisson from AS Roma, who will inevitably become their number one ahead of the likes of Karius, so perhaps a move to build his confidence would be the best for both parties.

Alisson will be tasked with improving the Liverpool FC defence following the inconsistent performances of Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.

Loris Karius now holds the No. 1 jersey at Anfield, with Simon Mignolet the club's No. 22, but it's been reported that both players could be offloaded by manager Jurgen Klopp this summer.

A chance for fitness, yes, as the players build up to the new campaign-but also an opportunity to give back to the fans.

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino are a deadly trio, but with just Xherdan Shaqiri and Daniel Sturridge in reserve, Klopp can ill-afford any injuries to his attacking players.

Liverpool's final pre-season friendly will also be against a Serie A side, Torino, on August 7.

"Pre-season is hard so I think you do need to get four or maybe five, six, seven days away preparing".

"We have two games to do that before we start, so it's really good".

"For him it was very good moment in his career, having already had a real experience at Bayern [Munich], at Stoke at Inter".
