But a source claims to ET that Jolie's latest move is in retaliation over the actress being ordered by a judge in June to help fix her children's relationship with Pitt.
Angelina's attorney Samantha Bley DeJean stated in papers filed on Tuesday, August 7: "Pitt has a duty to pay child support".
Jolie's legal representatives are asking the judge overseeing the former couple's divorce and custody case to set up a status conference to address the issue. Pitt, 54, and Jolie, 43, share six children ages 9 to 16. A source familiar with the matter told ET at the time that it seems someone misinterpreted facts about the Oscar winner's divorce case with Pitt, and that new experts had been brought on, signifying a "new phase" of the divorce proceedings.
The arrangement for child support was allegedly informal, per the TMZ report, but Jolie claims that Pitt has not even lived up to those informal expectations.
