According to reports from Daily Mirror, Chelsea are now in pole position to land Crystal Palace superstar Wilfried Zaha, after Tottenham Hotspur chose to pull out of the race for the Ivory Coast worldwide.
Zaha is a man in demand as the transfer window for Premier League clubs to make signings enters its final stretch.
The North London outfit had allegedly been willing to try to sign Zaha for £45m, but the valuation of the Eagles has left Chelsea as frontrunners to complete a deal before August 9.
However, the winger has turned down the contract offer. The Belgian wing wizard has been a long-term target for European champions Real Madrid and had expressed his desire to secure a move to Spain post his exploits in the summer's FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation.
He has attracted interest from a number of clubs, with Spurs, Everton and Borussia Dortmund all having been linked, but according to The Mirror, he is keen to force a move to Chelsea.More news: Conor McGregor to return against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229
"I do think the fee would have to be much bigger than what Chelsea are talking about".
Zaha has been in impressive form during pre-season for Crystal Palace following an outstanding 2017-18 English Premier League season in which he directly contributed to 14 goals in 29 games.
Palace have since offered Zaha a new deal worth £125,000-a-week - although he only signed one for £100,000-a-week 15 months ago.
Williams and Kaikai will both be hoping to remain at Palace and avoid being sent out on loan before Thursday's 5pm transfer deadline.
